FAQ

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?

The wedding festivities will begin on Thursday, June 19th and will be followed by the wedding ceremony on Friday, June 20th. We would love for you to join us for the full celebration if your schedule allows!

We understand that travel schedules can be tricky, so please let us know if you have any questions or need any assistance with your arrival plans. We're here to help make your trip as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

DO YOU HAVE ANY HOTEL RECOMMENDATIONS?

The two preferred options are Pestana Palácio do Freixo and Pestana Douro Riverside. Please book directly with the hotel for the best available rate. The reception will take place at Pestana Palacio do Freixo but Douro Riverside is next door and less than a 5 minute walk down the street.

Porto is very easy to get around and has a lot of beautiful hotels, so feel free to stay wherever your heart desires.

WHAT IS THERE TO DO IN PORTO?

We’re glad you asked! Porto is a city full of charm, history, and vibrant experiences. To make your trip even more enjoyable, we’ve created a Porto guide featuring some of our favorite spots, from iconic landmarks to hidden gems.

Whether you’re into exploring historic sites, sipping on port wine by the Douro River, or discovering local markets, there’s something for everyone. We’ve also included recommendations for day trips if you’d like to venture beyond the city.

Check out our guide for all the details—we can’t wait for you to fall in love with Porto as much as we have!

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

The dress code for the wedding is summer formal. We're envisioning a vibrant, fashionable celebration, so we encourage guests to embrace bold, patterned attire. Here’s a mood board to help!

For women, please wear floor-length gowns in bright, floral prints or rich, jewel-toned fabrics. Cocktail dresses or anything too short are not the vibe.

For men, a light-colored linen suit or a black tuxedo would be perfect. Think soft blues, tans, or other summer-friendly hues.

The key is to have fun with your outfit and feel your absolute best! If you're wondering "is this too much?", then you're likely on the right track. Don't worry about upstaging the couple - it's simply not possible. This is your chance to get dressed up and celebrate in style.

The most important thing is that you come ready to dance the night away with us. Can't wait to see all the fabulous fashion on the big day!

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE FOR THE WELCOME PARTY?

Our Welcome Party will take place the evening before the wedding, and we’d love for everyone to join us in all-white attire, semi-formal. Think chic and elevated—but still comfortable enough to celebrate the night before the big day!

For outfit inspiration, check out our mood board: Karen & Dejo’s White Party Moodboard.

IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULDN’T WEAR?

Ladies please refrain from wearing anything short. Don't stress too much about wearing a dress with some white in it or a white base with a colorful pattern- as long as you’re not wearing a wedding gown all will be OK!

WILL THE WEDDING BE OUTSIDE?

The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outside on grass. Dinner will then be inside a climate-controlled tent.

CAN I BRING MY KIDS?

We love your little ones, but we’ve decided to keep our wedding an adults-only event.

CAN I BRING A PLUS ONE?

We can only accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you receive a plus one, their name will be included on the envelope.
